You don’t need to go far to see rivers and mountains. Feel like a tourist in your own home city, or join a tour when visiting Montreal. This 3-hour tour is appropriate for all ages and is perfect for the business traveler or family in for a short trip with an unscheduled half-day.

A New Path Just this summer, the city of Montreal launched the Promenade Fleuve-Montagne, a one-of-a-kind pedestrian path from the St. Lawrence River to Montreal iconic Mount Royal. The path was created as part of a larger project to change the way the city was experienced in sustainable and meaningful ways. At Fitz & Follwell, we were inspired by this development; we’re always looking to introduce and reintroduce people to Montreal in new and innovative ways, hoping they form and walk away with connections to the city that they might not otherwise.

A New Tour Our newly-designed urban walking tour is a guided tour beginning in the historic city centre, Old Montreal, or Vieux-Montréal, and ending at the top of Mont-Royal Park—the forested part of the park that serves up a spectacular view of the city and ideal photo-taking location. (Mount Royal itself is not to be missed; a spot so core to the heart and culture of the city, and its namesake.) Between the start and end points, participants will wind through the downtown core, and McGill University campus—a picturesque campus known for its limestone buildings dating back to the 1800s. (And if that wasn’t enough, the campus has been named one of the most beautiful in the world.)

A New Way of Seeing Montreal Getting acquainted, or reacquainted, with Montreal through its public spaces, architecture, and natural features has never been this easily accessible. We put our own spin on the new pathway, sometimes literally, to introduce you to the behind-the-scenes stories and spots that make our city what it is: lesser-known parks and smaller back streets are all part of the Fitz & Follwell way for those looking for something off the beaten—or in this case, newly paved—path.

Worried about the weather? There’s no need to get cold feet, as the winter version of this tour includes many opportunities to warm up indoors. And enjoy some hot chocolate. (We pause our gelato breaks for the winter season, but Montreal isn’t Montreal without a treat along the way.)

From All Walks This new walking path was designed with the intentions of serving both Montreal residents and tourists alike—businesspeople, arts enthusiasts, people interested in architecture; students, families with young children, and longtime Montrealers— truly anyone who appreciates or wants to learn more about the city. Our tour, too, aims to bring together locals and visitors, to swap stories of the city, ask questions, and explore, in a safe, comfortable, and fresh way. Meet you on the path, and slightly off it.
